Marathon for all!

I have been hard at work (well, it wasn't really that hard) creating Marathon packs for Windows and OS X and I am happy to report that I have gotten both Marathon and Marathon Infinity finished and uploaded for both OS X and Windows. All of the packs include the HiRes Texture packs, AlephOne, and their associated data files. So have at it! Go grab yourself a copy of Marathon.

Marothon

Marathon, developed by Bungie in 1994, is a pretty cool game. I've just now started playing it on my MacBook and it is pretty addicting. The nice thing about Marathon is that it actually runs really well on my MacBook (2Ghz CoreDuo, 2GB RAM, Intel GMA 950). The other great thing about Marathon is that it's open source and is available for OS X, Linux, and Windows. If you have some time to kill and want to get your hands on Marathon, it can be found at source.bungie.org. If you download Marathon, don't forget to grab the HiRes textures to enhance your experience, they are worth the 222mb download.

Linux Spotting

When I was eating dinner at Jack in the Box today, their JackTV system rebooted. The OS of choice was none other than Linux. I took a couple of pictures with my Venus. I'm sure everyone that was eating was wondering why I was taking pictures of the TVs, but who cares? I got to see that they were running Linux.JackTV runs LInux

Bridgeport Trip

We left Bakersfield at 4 am Friday morning. When we arrived in Bridgeport we reserved our room and then took off riding to Bodie around noon until 4 pm. It was a great day of almost go anywere riding.

On Saturday, we started riding around 10 am. We took off toward Ricky Peak and ended up dropping down the back side toward Sonora. If there was more snow, we would have been able to make it back to the truck, but there wasn't so Robbie caught a ride 14 miles up the road to come back to us with the truck and trailer around 4pm. It was another awesome day of virtually go anywhere riding.

Sunday, we rode Sonora starting around 9 am to about 1 pm. This was the worst day of riding, but the scenery was sure beautiful. All in all, it was a great trip full of lots of laughter and fun.

All of us can't wait to do it again next year.

Remap that pesky enter key

That pesky little enter key next to the right command key is quite useless. Apple has even come to the realization this wasted key with the latest versions of their MacBook (Pro) keyboard layouts.

Bring in Double Command. With this free preference pane, that useless enter key can now be something useful, such as a second option key, or my personal preference, a second control key for the ease of changing spaces with one hand.

Doughnuts in my s10

On Saturday, I was out at the fairgrounds with my friend Bryan watching my brother play in the XPSL paintball tournament. When I pulled into the parking lot earlier that morning, I thought to myself, that it would be an awesome place to spin some doughnuts, and I was right. So, here's Bryan and myself in my s10 spinning some doughnuts.

Justin Allard dot com wallpaper

I was bored and decied to make a wallpaper. Three different versions to be precise:

The first version has Justin Allard dot com with a deep internal shadow and quotes around my quote.

The second has a light interal shadow on Justin Allard dot com and quotes around my quote.

The third, which is my favorite, has a light interla shadow on Justin Allard dot com and no quotes around my quote.

I'm pretty sure nobody will use these, but hey, I just thought I'd share them with the world.
